The Museum’s collections include a very large, 300-year-old double bass, as well as very small instruments. Two violins occupy the space of a single matchbox. You can learn about woodwind instruments made from plexiglass and metal, about instruments with reeds, and about the history of brass instruments with several kinds of valves. You may also hear music boxes, a player piano, and a barrel-organ from Berlin, built by Baccigalupo in 1895!
At the end of the tour are 250 instruments from Africa, America, and Asia telling the visitors about the musical culture of other continents.
This collection has existed since 1887. We welcome you to our Museum. See our exhibits and listen to a guided tour in English. You will be surprised at the large variety of musical instruments.
