Re: Edelklang

Ok. Thanks, Stefan. I'm asking because I have pictures of some Adler guitars that don't look like any old Windisch guitar I know. They might be from any other maker.

Well, knowing old guitars implies continuous searching, which is fun. So let's keep on searching.

Edelklang

Hi, It's often said and assumed both here and some other websites that Edelklang was a brand used by Otto Windisch around the '20s for mandolins and guitar-lutes. But this mandolin and a circa 1920 Johannes Adler catalog tell a different story. http://img117.imageshack.us/img117/2657/edelklang1if7.j...

Re: Osbama

Hot summer in spain You cannot imagine how much! I'm roasted and well done. This kind of brancing gives the OSBAMA guitars a unique an typicall sound! Yes, they sound so special in a positive way. The full contact rosewood bridge feet has a lot to do about it too. Hard to describe that sound though...

Re: Osbama

Otwin schlaggitarren have three tonebars. The regular two plus an extra one in the center usually shorter and smaller than the other two in the guitars with thick tops (like the Cabinet I talked about) or all three similar in thickness and size for guitars with thinner tops like my Sonor. Sorry, I ...

Osbama

Hey Stefan. Did you ever inspected inside your Osbama Tango with a mirror? I was inspecting inside some of my new "schlaggitarren" adquisitions and I found a really interesting thing inside my Osbama. It has a single tonebar running along the center of the top. I was very surprised and looked for an...

Re: Migma, Meister Förstner

Stefan, I got that Migma guitar you talk about. I cleaned the label with a soft brush and the name writen on it is "Forstner" for sure. Not Förstner. The guitar is a nice Roger Junior styled one, but sadly in really poor condition needing a huge restoration work. Even this way it sounds nice, full ...

Re: Absonderlich tonabnehmer von Rellog

Thanks Archie, That's really interesting. So it's an kind of special contact pickup based on mechanical microphonics transmition. Microphonics are usually unwanted on regular guitar pickups because they tend to fedback in a uncontrolled and nasty way with an excess of gain. Good modern pickups are o...

Re: MIGMA Label Gitarrenbauer identifizieren! Benötige Hilfe!

The last three letters appear to be "bur". The second and third letter might be "au" or "an". The second one looks like an "r". Cannot figure out the first one. So these are my guessings: 1- ?raubur 2- ?ranbur Maybe the short line on top of the fourth letter is part of the first F. Perhaps Franbur? ...
