Is this a Oscar Adler Bass Sax?

Beitrag von Eaglestone »

Hello

I bought this wonderful bass saxophone. serial is #2267. Before the serial there is an engraved insect (a bee?)
There is also small engraving on the front of the bell, but the mark/stamp is not visible. Should probably be seated in the middle of the engraving
Everything else is quite like a Conn from the early 20-ties. But the serial and the marking
My questions.
1.Is this an Oscar Adler?
2. If so, What type of adler is this?
3. What year/period is this produced?

The instrument is supposed to be owned by the Argentinian Military Music, and was bought from them in the early 1980'ies.
I'll take some pictures and add to a following post

Difficult to judge from the Photos. There was an Oscar Adler Bass Saxophone in the "Faszination Saxophon" exhibition (p. 85 of the catalogue) with a comparable design but it has a wave formed bottom bow. I have a 1930s Oscar Adler Bass Saxophone, somewhat different in the design (both lowest holes are on the left side of the bell, not split). However it has the same wave formed bottom bow as the older one. And there is an Eagle engraved on the bell (Eagle= Adler).
Is there anything engraved on the bell of your instrument?
Viele Grüße
Pascal
